The project is formed by the Greater Community Council of Juradó “LOS MARLIN” and the Greater Council of Nóvita – COCOMAN, who work together to protect the forest, reducing and controlling deforestation and forest degradation.
The name of the project is due to the unification of the two community councils and the proximity of one of them to the border with Panama. COCOMAN FRONTERA REDD seeks to protect 133,637 hectares of tropical rainforest and benefit more than 5,000 people who live in the territory.
