For its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and its environmental, social and economic impact on Bahía Solano and Juradó, Chocó, DELFINES CUPICA REDD+ obtained first place in the Forests and Flora category of the continent awarded by the Premios Latinoamérica Verde 2020.
This recognition is the result of joint work between the General Community Council of the North Pacific Coast of Chocó – Los Delfines, the Community Council of Cupica, located in the municipalities of Bahía Solano and Juradó, Chocó, Colombia, and BIOFIX BIC.
DELFINES CUPICA REDD+ is a project that reduced and compensated for almost three million tons of CO2e, conserved 103,000 hectares of native forests and with the resources obtained sought to improve the quality of life of more than 7,000 people belonging to the community councils it is part of.
