BANAKALE - ISIMALI REDD+
BANAKALE ISIMALI REDD+ is formed by the Llanura del Tomo and Santa Teresita del Tuparro Indigenous Reserves, which work together to protect the forest, reducing and controlling deforestation.
The activities of this project seek to benefit more than 3,000 people belonging to reserves and inhabitants of the territory.
Its name 'BANAKALE' comes from the indigenous language of the Sikuani people, which means the variety of seeds found in conucos and orchards and the word “ISIMALI” means work, strength, dedication, responsibility and leadership, which complements the work carried out by the community through of this REDD project.
