Among 2,540 participating projects from across Latin America, the Palameku Kuwei REDD+ project is selected among the 500 best, occupying position 63. This recognition is thanks to the socio-environmental work carried out by the project in its region.
Palameku Kuwei REDD+ is located in Cumaribo, Vichada, and is proposed by 6 indigenous reserves that inhabit this forest territory: Ríos Muco and Guarrojo Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani and Piapoco Village), Ríos Tomo and Weberi Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani Village, Punta Bandera Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani People), San Luis del Tomo Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani People), La Esmeralda Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani People), Valdivia Indigenous Reserve (Sikuani People).
