Yaawi IIpana REDD+ is selected as one of the 50 best conservation projects in the Biodiversity category of the Green Awards
In the 2022 version of the Green Awards, the Yaawi IIpana REDD+ Project was ranked 38th among the 500 best in Latin America, for its alignment with social and environmental actions in Colombia.
Este projeto, localizado no departamento de Guaviare que protege 248.046 hectares de floresta tropical úmida, é proposto pela Reserva Indígena Morichal Viejo, Santa Rosa, Cerro Cocuy, Santa Cruz, Caño Danta e outros, e tem como objetivo principal minimizar o impacto gerados pelo desmatamento e degradação florestal através de uma visão abrangente do desenvolvimento territorial.
By 2022, through the project's activities, 448,601 tons of CO2e had been reduced, and supported by the commercialization of carbon credits, the objective is to improve the quality of life of more than a thousand people.
