Bananal Island is classified as the largest river island in the world, where there is a great wealth and diversity of flora and fauna. It is located in a transition zone between the humid tropical forest of the Amazon basin and the woody savannas with gallery forest.<\/p>\n

This project aims to protect more than 2 million hectares of territory formed by jungle and flooded areas, benefiting more than 4 thousand people from the 42 villages of Java\u00e9, Karaj\u00e1 and \u00c3wa, present in 2 indigenous lands in the transition region between El Cerrado and the Amazon Brazilian.<\/p>\n

This territory has been recognized in Ramsar since 2002 as an important carbon sink, due to its more than 500 thousand hectares of seasonal lagoons, swamps and numerous islands. Globally, it is classified as the largest river island in the world, where there is a great wealth and diversity of flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

This territory formed by jungles and flooded areas is a fast and effective ecosystem in capturing CO2, standing out as the largest Blue Carbon project developed by BIOFIX Consulting in association with indigenous communities in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
